Her exceptional vault left the judge in SHOCK
No gymnast has been awarded a perfect score at the Olympics since 1992, but 16-year-old McKayla Maroney’s vault in the team final was the standard of excellence at London 2012.
It marked the only score in the 16s in the team final and the highest of any women’s score in any event at the London Games.
“It was just, like, godly,” Maroney said in 2014. “Like I really think that there was angels or something like that.”
